Beni di Batasiolo Bofani, Barolo DOCG 2009, Italy

  • PRESS: Wine Advocate - 90 points. "Beni di Batasiolo has delivered some very nice results in the 2009 vintage, and these wines are just about to enter their drinking window. The 2009 Barolo Bussia Vigneto Bofani shows a slightly sweet nose with ripe berry aromas followed by spice, licorice and toasted Spanish cedar. The mouthfeel offers firm structure with drying tannins at the back. This wine stands out for that structure."

    Producer: Batasiolo

    Region/Appellation: Barolo
    Country Hierarchy: Piedmont, Italy

    Grape/Blend: Nebbiolo

Food Suggestion: Dishes based on red meats, game, roasts and cheeses and cured meats. Without a meal it is a pleasant occasion for friendship and conversation.

    Tasting Notes:

The color is deep garnet red with orange reflections. The intense and persistent aromas of dried fruit, jam, red fruits, flowers, and spices. The palate is full-bodied, tannic and pleasantly balanced by the acidity that perfectly balances the alcohol.
