Ornellaia Toscana Bianco IGT 2014, Tuscany, Italy
PRESS: James Suckling - 95 points. "This is a more vibrant and fresh style of the Ornellaia. Medium to full body, sliced white peach and pineapple. Savory and minerally, even salty. Complex and vivid. All barrel fermented and aged 12 months but only 25% new. Drink now."
Robert Parker - 93 points.
Region/Appellation: Toscana IGT
Country Hierarchy: Tuscany, Italy
Grape/Blend: 74% Sauvignon Blanc, 13% Viogner, 13% Petit Manseng
Colour: Glowing gold.
Aroma: Though characteristic of Sauvignon Blanc, is less grassy than some Graves whites, and the Viognier lends a unique richness, with notes of both fresh and dried apricots, as well as white peach, and then lychee.
Taste: Consummately elegant, with a suave decadence, counterpoised by a fresh, mineral vein. A distinctly Italian savouriness and Mediterranean salinity give flair to the finish.
